forgiveness

The dialogue, The Parade and the ad hoc insider reconciliation

What is national forgiveness and what is it useful for?

In the spirit of forgiveness, Immanuel Kant's theory on national forgiveness is worth revisiting. There are many who believe that this theory deserves to be dismissed outright but to do so would be a disservice to Kant's complex understanding of human nature. In order for peace to reign, people must make amends with those who caused them grief in the past and show a willingness to live in harmony. with them.Kant believed that many people are unwilling to forgive because they lack the resolve for it in the first place and fail to understand what is going on with their adversary. For someone who has an enemy, Kant stated, "the enemy is then as if he were not" because we can focus on our grievance rather than the actual person. But people will change their minds and act as if nothing had ever happened when they are able to find a way to forgive. It is not always easy, but it is worth the effort.

What is the difference between that and the one imposed on the Chadian people?

The ad hoc insider reconciliation disguised as a form of national reconciliation and a universal mutual forgiveness though still being imposed by brute force is in no way even remotely close to a sober plan and a compassionate thoughtful solution for a sobbing, destroyed, humiliated country like ours.

In order for us to progress, to move forward, and recover from the fatalities we've been in all this time, we need to acknowledge that the regime that has been in power for four decades during which they basically deprived us from everything from food, farming, education, health, you name it, I consider is just as bad as slavery. They have ruled with an iron fist and have never shown any remorse for their actions. They have always taken advantage of the people, who are too scared to speak up. But now it is time for the people to stand up and fight back!

The regime has been oppressing the people for years. The people are living in fear as they cannot express themselves freely. They can't even protest against the injustice that they face every day. The regime is a dictatorship which will not hesitate to use violence on those who oppose them, including children.

The regime has been taking advantage of the people by controlling everything from their food supply, to what they wear and how much money they can make.

It's time for change!
